Change Setting in Windows Media Center So it’s Always Displayed on Top
I occasionally enjoy watching a little TV, or perhaps a movie, with Windows Media Center while doing work on the computer. Not exactly the most productive form or multitasking, but hey, whatever, I enjoy it. However, it’s annoying to have to keep Media Center in a otherwise unoccupied area of the screen, or to constantly be clicking on it to move it back on top were you can see it.
Here’s a very simple, but very useful little setting in Windows Media Center that will keep the application on top of other windows all the time while you are working. FYI: This is also ideal for those that use Windows Media Center as a standalone HTPC / Media PC machine.
Open Windows Media Center and Click on the Tasks menu tile.

Select Settings…

Click Startup and Window Behavior….

Tick the checkbox next to “Always keep Windows Media Center on top.” Click Save before you exit.

Windows Media Center will now always be on top of the other open windows.
