Windows has made rolling back a driver nice and simple which is fortunate because it’s usually one of the fastest ways to solve issues with a specific device.

Drivers are sections of software that control certain devices on your system. They’re responsible for ensuring the device works correctly which is why they are usually the first thing to check if a device is misbehaving.

We’re going to show you exactly how to roll back a driver in Windows 10. This will revert it to the previous version which will usually be more stable than the current one if it has just been released.

How to roll back a driver in Windows

  • Find your way into your device manager. You can access this by going into the search box at the bottom right of the screen and searching for it.
  • Open it up and find your way to the device that isn’t working properly.
  • Right click on the device and head into properties.
  • Click on the Driver tab at the top, and then click on the 'Roll Back Driver' button.
